International A-Class Design Drawing
Hot off the drawing board of Australian designer, Adrian Brewer, we have now available the latest in International RA-Class thinking. The last time we obtained a new design from Adrian we were able to take it to a hands down victory in the U.S. National Championships, and this boat should be capable of the same performance. Specifically oriented for excellent speed and acceleration in light airs typical of the United States, GLIDE sails on a 50" waterline and is 60" Length Overall for easy transportation. With over 1,300 square inches of sail area, the 31 pound boat should provide a potent combination of acceleration and momentum for handling the spotty air often found on American ponds.
Design is presented as a single 24" by 36" sheet with profile
hull lines at half scale, full scale hull stations and keel bulb, and 1/10th
scale sail plan. Not a construction drawing, GLIDE should fit the need of
experienced modelers and would be easily constructed using a single piece female
mold, or a male ribbanded plug for cold molded wood. Plan is sent USPS Priority
Mail, rolled in a tube and grants a license for construction of one boat.
Individuals interested in providing grp hulls will contact designer for
arrangements.
